"I enjoy expressing emotions through the form and flow of the body. In my figurative work, much of what I do is get to know and understand the body, its balance and curvatures. I hope viewers can experience a sense of organic wholeness in my sculptures: I would like these figures to be seen not only as alive, but as thriving, growing and transforming in the healthy sense that living things are dyanamic: they evolve. I would like people to see that my pieces embody actual living energy. I have a strong connection to the outdoors and the natural world around me. As much as I love the creative sculptural process, I think the inspiration that drives me the most is nature. Glass seems to embody characteristics that I am trying to display in the work itself: the flow of energy and the wholeness of forms and the process of transformation of the material."
